day 17: 30 day blog challenge

day 17: something you're looking forward to

guess what ya'll i'm running in my second 5k tomorrow! go me!!!!

i'm focusing on beating my time from last weekend's race and actually running the whole thing! i only stopped once last weekend. the weather is suppose to be really nice and i have two lovely ladies joining me on this cousin J and bestie K. Yayyyy!!! this 5k is the Free to Breathe race...supporting lung cancer. i love supporting these great causes! this running thing is starting to get a little easier. i never considered myself to be a runner, but desperately needed to change up my workout routine. so, i thought to myself...let's try running. {shoot me now} lol. i've been pretty consistent with running a few times each week with my great workout partner B. my iPOD is awesome! its another great motivator - with the music blasting in my ears, I push myself harder! if you ever see me running, i'm probably talking to myself...i continuously say to myself "you got this it girl"! this helps every time. now, you won't see me training for the summer Olympics anytime soon...i'm just trying to stay healthy! and....bathing suit season will be here before ya know ;)

wish me luck on my run tomorrow ladies!

Good luck in the 5k tomorrow!! A great mix on the iPod makes such a difference in running! And I love your positive self talk, I am going to have to try that on my next run :)

Good luck in your run tomorrow!!!! :) Like you I never considered myself a runner until recently. I did my first 5K in October for the Race for the Cure and have done 3 so far! It's addicting :) A great and fun way to change up your workout while supporting an important cause! You're going to do fabulous tomorrow!!! What music do you like to listen to while you run? I love Britney Spears (I'm a HUGE fan!) and her music gets me going every time!!! It helps to have good friends and family supporting you during 5Ks. I'll be thinking of you, please think of me while I take part in my very first Spin-A-Thon! I'll be spinning for 3 hours straight to raise funds for Diabetes!!!
