you can't put a price tag on happiness.

In the past couple of weeks, I feel like I finally found the keys to open my heart, mind, body and soul. God has defiantly humbled me beyond words. The feeling I have is unreal and I just can’t describe it. It’s a blessing, knowing certain people come in and out of you’re life for all the right reasons. Sometimes, the reasons are not always given to you at first, but He always reveals himself at the right time. I’ve been truly blessed to have the best of friends, meet genuine new people, and experience true love. I could never thank certain people enough for everything they have done. I’ve been inspired to become a better Christian, daughter, sister, friend, runner, employee and person.
I know; I speak a lot about happiness and being positive on here. I guess you just had to know me a couple years of ago or even early last year. My world has changed dramatically because of my choices and having faith. I’ve learned patience, love and gratitude more in the last couple months than I’ve ever known in my twenty-six years of life. I’m grateful for all the bumps on my path; I had to overcome to get to this place. A place of happiness and joy… I think I’ve finally found my purpose here…not only to inspire myself, but to inspire others as well. Nothing makes me happier than seeing others around me happy and finding their purpose.

I realize life isn’t perfect, but life is what you make it. Everyday, God reveals His love for me and makes me love my life more and more. I use to be one of those people who would look at the positive, happy, go-lucky person and grunt. I often wondered why they are so happy every single day. And, now I know….because I’m that person. I’m not striving to be perfect because I know that’s not possible. I’m just trying to enjoy my life and not take for granted the simple blessings we’ve been given. I’m the kind of happy only He can intensify. I'm grateful for my past, present and all the future blessings...thank you.

check this out, yo.

ashley (that's me) just signed up for a half marathon. my first one eva!

so, my running group has basically been training for this half marathon and i just found this out last month. i know ya'll are probably thinking...where have you been girl? well, i've just been running with them...haven't really been paying attention to details. all that running was building up to being able to actually run a half marathon. am i ready? my legs/feet say heck yeah! but, my mind is having doubts. i know its a mental thing. April 10th. the countdown is on. what's 13.1 miles? piece cake! ha! and, the best part of all of this is that the event is in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. and the course is flat. um, hello...talk about ideal. right? darn skippy! i'm pretty thrilled and pleased with my progress with this running thing. its grown on me.

no, i will not be dancing on any tables this weekend. lol.

i will be dancing my booty off tomorrow in celebration of my bestie's birthday! yay!
dancing is a great form of exercise. i love to dance, but its been so long and i hope i have not forgotten how.
whateva, i'm just looking forward to enjoying time with friends and burning some extra calories. oh, and of course any excuse to get all dolled up and wear a little extra makeup.

last, but not least...thank you for reading my blog!!! all of my random thoughts, positive messages and quotes. i really do appreciate all of your comments and it brings a smile to my face to see new followers. :) <- see, thats me smiling right there.

hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!!

Thank you.

Happy Veterans Day!

I would like to thank and honor those who have and are currently serving our country! We all appreciate your sacrifice and love for OUR country! I'd like to thank their understanding families who also sacrifice being away from the ones they love, just so we can have the freedom we live on a daily basis. You all are always in my thoughts and prayers!

God bless you all and your families!

Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the BOLD.
It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone
in exchange for a little time with the one they love.
It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it,
even if they don't see it nearly enough.
